The Lancet Rescinds 1998 Autism Study

A 1998 study published in a major British medical journal linking the mumps, measles and rubella vaccine to autism as been retracted. Subsequent studies have found no proof of a link between autism and vaccines.

The publication of the study in The Lancet resulted in many parents refusing to have their children vaccinated. Britain has seen a resurgence of measles with outbreaks of the disease every year.
